Tired of using a shoebox to keep track of your accounts?
Do you currently use Microsoft Excel®, or hand over a shoebox or bag full of receipts to your accountant every few months? Does your accountant have to ring you and ask if anything’s missing? Ever found a receipt and thought it should have gone to your accountant?
Work with your accountant
If the answer to any of these is yes, then using Sage One can help. With Sage One Cashbook you get a simple way to record all of the money in and out of your business and your accountant can log in from their office and see that information in their Accountant Edition service. This means they don’t need to chase you for your receipts and they can do what you pay them for quickly and easily.
Record cash deposits
It sounds obvious, but we designed Cashbook for cash-based businesses. In Sage One you can simply record what cash you’ve paid into your bank, the same way that you actually did it. No more having to match specific income or expenses to the actual deposit.
Sage One Cashbook’s main features:
Keep track of your money
In this simple-to-use system you can record all the money in and out from your business. As the system is online, this information can be accessed by your accountant without the need to send them all your invoices and receipts. They can simply access your data and produce a VAT return, self-assessment or year-end accounts. Working with your accountant means that they can customise your experience so that it’s relevant to you and your business.
Banks and cash
The banking feature in Cashbook lets you easily record what funds have moved through your business, whether its cash in hand or money going in and out of your bank. In Cashbook there’s a feature that makes it really easy to record what cash and cheques you’ve deposited in your bank account, it’s all in plain English and doesn’t require any accounting knowledge to accurately record your finances.
Contacts, contacts, contacts
If you want to record all of your customer details in one place you can do that in Sage One Cashbook quickly and easily. It’s really straightforward and let’s you record notes against your customers such as “need to call back in 2 weeks”.
Business performance snapshot
In the Summary screen, quickly view your income, expenses and get a rough idea of profit for the month and year to date. From the summary screen you can also run a full Profit and Loss Report.
Reports that are right for you
If you’re self employed then you’ll need to fill in a self assessment form every year. Use Sage One Cashbook for a year and it’ll run reports which will help provide you with the information you need to give HMRC.
Loads of clever stuff
We know that accounting might not be your strong point so Sage One Cashbook does a lot of clever stuff in the background that you don’t need to see. For example, if the VAT rate changes to 20% we update the system for you behind the scenes so that you don’t have to worry about it.
